Caitlin Clark Fuels Fever's Crucial Game 2 Victory, Forces Decisive Game 3 Against Aces
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark made WNBA postseason history with a dominant performance, guiding her team to a 99-89 win over the Las Vegas Aces and avoiding elimination.

Indiana Fever sensation Caitlin Clark etched her name in WNBA postseason records on Tuesday night, becoming the first player in league history to achieve a points-assists double-double before the halftime break of a playoff contest. Her exceptional play propelled the Fever to a crucial 99-89 victory, staving off elimination and setting up a decisive Game 3 on Thursday.
Clark concluded the night with an impressive 27 points, 15 assists, and seven rebounds before fouling out with 2:45 left in the fourth quarter, at which point the Fever held a 92-83 lead. For the Aces, Jackie Young was the top scorer with 31 points. Las Vegas' A'Ja Wilson, who contributed 22 points, received a technical foul in the final quarter following an interaction with a spectator.
A Pivotal Second-Quarter Turnaround
Facing elimination in Game 2 against the reigning champion Las Vegas Aces, Clark delivered a remarkable performance, orchestrating a dramatic shift in momentum after receiving a technical foul in the second quarter, which helped Indiana build a significant lead by halftime.
Clark's frustration with the officiating escalated after what appeared to be a defensive flop by Aces guard Mai Yamamoto amidst intense physical play, leading to Clark being assessed a technical foul late in the period.
This aggressive move from the Aces seemed to ignite Clark and inadvertently sparked a powerful response from the Fever.
As the team's primary playmaker, Clark immediately channeled her intensity into a furious 24-6 scoring run. She spearheaded the Fever's offensive surge, which forced eight turnovers from the Aces in the second quarter alone and outscored them 30-17 in the frame, securing a 48-43 advantage at the intermission.
In just 19 minutes of first-half action, Clark recorded 14 points and 11 assists. She was responsible for 11 of Indiana's 13 team assists, skillfully setting up teammates Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston for 30 points in the paint during the first half.
Continuing a Season of Achievements
This postseason heroics follows a standout regular season for the third-year Fever star, where she earned both AP Comeback Player of the Year and First Team All-WNBA honors. She made history by becoming the first player in the league to accumulate over 800 points and 300 assists in a single campaign.
As she strives for her inaugural WNBA playoff series victory, Clark's historic half once again demonstrated her remarkable ability to rise to the occasion under immense pressure.
